Microalgae and Zygnematophyceae in FUNDus!

We are pleased to announce that the Microalgae and Zygnematophyceae Collection (MZCH) of the Institute of Plant Sciences and Microbiology is now available in the FUNDus! Collection Portal. 731 digital objects and 392 images from the MZCH provide fascinating insights into the scientific algae culture collection with over 830 living microalgae strains.

As the closest relatives of land plants, they are a key group for research into the evolutionary colonization of land around 500 million years ago. Furthermore, the MZCH supports a wide range of research approaches as a reference resource – from basic molecular biology studies to application-oriented projects in environmental and biotechnology.
