Information about Research Data and the Research Data Repository

Research data are as diverse as research subjects and sciences. Research data are, in the case of natural sciences, rather numerical data (numbers) in large quantities, but include interview data, audio and video recordings, scanned texts and pictures, and much more besides research data. Thus, all documents and data that are in digital form and are used for research are suitable for long-term storage in a research data management system. This is independent of a possible public provision (open data) of the data.

You should keep your research data in the long term in a secure technical environment, using standards and compliance with data protection regulations. The Center for Sustainable Research Data Management supports you with this task.
