Electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) are software solutions for planning, carrying out, evaluating and documenting laboratory experiments and can, for example, prevent data loss. They also promote data exchange, transparency and reproducibility, simplify data management and storage processes and improve data retrieval and citation.
In the medium term, they will replace analogue documents. A web-based open source solution is elabFTW. The RRZ (IT-Service) provides a test installation that can be accessed at https://elab.apps.uni-hamburg.de/.
A connection to the central AD and login via user ID is not yet possible. A user account can be created for you. To do this, please send an email to juliane.jacob"AT"uni-hamburg.de. As soon as the user account is created, you will be notified by email and can then use the "Forgot password?" function to set a password.
Important note:
This is a test operation for an estimated three months, followed by an evaluation. There is no backup and the operation is not adequately secured for the storage or processing of sensitive or personal data.
